Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these in advance and pack them?

This is a grilled sandwich recipe, so it’s best consumed right away after toasting. You could assemble the sandwiches and store in the fridge to grill when ready to serve. If you do want to travel with them, they may not be so crisp outside but I promise they’ll still be delicious!

Can I skip the cinnamon sugar?

Yep! The cinnamon sugar topping is an optional step that makes this sandwich extra crispy and flavourful but omitting it will still work.

Can I make this without grilling?

Yes you can, but this sandwich tastes best warm and toasted IMO!

Richa’s Top Tricks to make the best Grilled Nutella Banana Sandwich

  1. You can grill these sandwiches in a sandwich maker if you have one. If you’ve got a sandwich/cookie cutter on hand, you can also cut the bread into cute shapes!
  1. Make this recipe vegan by subbing the butter with vegan butter. My Homemade Nutella is vegan!
  1. You can also add a layer of peanut butter or some marshmallows (which get all soft and creamy once the sandwich is toasted) to take this grilled chocolate banana sandwich to the next level! We like to play around with the fillings to switch things up.
